Magickal Recordkeeping
A course in three parts.
One of the things that separates the proficient Practitioner from the occasional dabbler is the regimen of noting the results of their workings and the circumstances in which they ply their Craft. Also, there comes a time in every serious Magick users Path which necessitates the commitment of their beliefs, traditions, and rituals into a more concrete form for themselves and those who they might share these with in Trust and Faith. In addition to these is the inevitable “recipe” book every practitioner creates to archive their most dependable and beloved spells. Hence, this course in one way to do this.
This course is designed to facilitate the student’s endeavor to create a Magickal recording and archival system. It is divided into three parts. Part one, the Dream Journal and the Magickal Diary. Part two, the Grimoire, and the Traveling Grimoire. Part three, the Book of Shadows (BOS) , the Electronic Book of Shadows, and tying it all together. The following list of supplies are expected for each participant to bring to class:
3- spiral bound standard notebooks (not the divided five subject ones) ;
1- 2 inch 3 ring binder;
1- smaller 3 ring binder;
1- pack of pencils (mechanical suggested ) ;
1- pack of ink or gel pens; any number of subject dividers;
1- paper shopping bag (for second class) ;
1- sheet of scrapbook paper ( student’s choice) .
At the end of this course, students will have a working Magickal Recordkeeping system that can either be kept in its original form and expanded upon, or transferred into more ornate materials. All levels of experience and proficiency are eligible for participation in this course. Attendance for the entire course is not required. Classes can be taken individually without penalty. However, due to the nature of the final class, previous class’ attendance is suggested. |
