Description
| The Flint River Fallfest is our largest event of the year and is in the eighth year. We have a Miss Flint River Fall fest beauty pageant, fishing derby, baking contest, pumpkin contest, trick or treat,costume contest for kids and a parade as well as great arts and crafts. Our Civic organizations as well as food vendors who want to sell there specialties have a booth with lots of wonderful foods to choose from. We like to have a good variety of arts and crafts of homemade items that everyone will love to look at and die to have. There will be music throughout the day and a big street dance to follow the night of the event to start at 7:00pm. A big street dance will also be happening on Friday night as vendors come in to set up for the big day on Saturday. This will be cancelled if it is homecoming night. All vendors can come as early as 6:00pm on Friday evening. |
Advertising Done for This Event
| Press Releases are being sent to surrounding radio, newspaper and Tv. Then we are runninng some paid radio and newspaper advertisement closer to the event. We are having banners made to place in two locations around town for August and September. We are hoping to place lots of individual small banners in surrounding counties. Our total advertising budget is $1000 |
Event/Application Rules & Regulations
RULES AND REGULATIONS
FLINT RIVER FALLFEST
1. The festival opens on Saturday, October 18th, from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m.
2. Gordon Street will be closed (one block only, from Church Street to Center Street) from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. to allow for the Street Dance.
3. Set-up of booths will be available, beginning Friday, October 17th, at 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. or 7:00am to 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 18th. Tear-down must be complete by 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18th. You may start break down after 6 p.m. but not before.
4. You must bring your own booth equipment (White tent preferable, tables, service, decoration, signage, heavy duty extension cords, etc.). The Thomaston Main Street Association will provide electricity on the Square for your use by request.
5. All booths must be set up in the parking spaces surrounding the courthouse Square and facing the courthouse. We will know your booth number closer to the event and will let you know by phone or by mail before the event.
6. The Thomaston Main Street Association reserves the right to review items available for sale or display at the festival, and to refuse any vendor permission to sell or display certain items. The Flint River FallFest is a family event.
7. All participating vendors will receive an evaluation form following the festival. We hope to improve future FallFest based on your comments and feedback.
8. The City of Thomaston Police Department will be on-hand throughout the day to provide security and safety precautions. The Thomaston Main Street Association will not be responsible for any lost or stolen property.
9. There will be no alcoholic beverages allowed.

Common Rules Selected: Previous acceptance does not guarantee re-acceptance. Include a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope with enough postage for the jury materials you are sending to be returned to you. Spots are assigned prior to show based by promoter. No Refunds. Show Credits available by condition. Held Rain or Shine! Overnight Security Provided. ALL product categories must be itemized on the application. Trash must be removed from your space to provided receptacles. Additional Lighting Recommended (bring lights and cords). White Canopies Only. Canopies must be weighted down, no stakes allowed in ground. No Early Packup Allowed. All paintings must hang. Food Service will take orders from and deliver to vendor booths. Event Helping Hands will come around/be available to relieve you for short periods. NO Setup until vehicle fully unloaded and moved. Vehicle must be parked in designated areas. Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space.
No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible.
Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards.
No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area.
All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax. |

Driving Directions From the North take I 75 from Atlanta and take 19/41 toward Griffin. Go around Griffin on 341 and look for Hwy 19 on the right. This will bring you straight into Thomaston and the square. From the East come Hwy 74 from Macon. This will come directly into downtown Thomaston. From the South come Hwy 19 North from Americus and you will come straight to downtown Thomaston. From the West take Manchester Hwy from Columbus, then take Hwy 36 at Waverly Hall. Follow 36 all the way to downtown Thomaston.
