Description
The market will be held at the Chattanooga Convention Center and will feature over 130 vendors. Free shuttle service is available from the First Tennessee Pavilion.
According to market director Tina Harr, the YMCA Christmas Market is a juried event. "We want to bring the very best to this show every year, so the booth applicants are screened to avoid a lot of duplication and to feature the highest quality crafters and specialty shops in the Southeast." Ms. Harr is director of program services for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga and has directed the Christmas Market for the past 15 years.
One new feature of this year’s market is a series of ongoing demonstrations by various cooks, crafters and artisans. “We’ve found over the years that while market visitors buy many holiday gifts, they also enjoy making gifts for family and friends,” explains Connie Farrar, Christmas Market Chairperson. “This year, we’re offering the best of both worlds by providing a wide array of fine gift items and also giving shoppers many ideas and practical demonstrations on how to make gifts at home.”
The $8 admission to the market entitles the ticket holder to shop all three days of the event. The money raised during the market helps support YMCA youth programs. It also provides scholarships that enable children and teens to participate in other YMCA programs such as inner-city preschool day care, Camp Ocoee and Youth Leadership Chattanooga." Conditional Partial or Full Refunds by conditions such as date and whether your space is resold. Held Rain or Shine! Overnight Security Provided. ALL product categories must be itemized on the application. Trash must be removed from your space to provided receptacles. No Early Packup Allowed. Raffle / Door Prize Donation Required. Floor Length Table Cloth Required. Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space.
No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible.
Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards.
No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area.
All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax. |
Event Quality Level Determining Flags:
Photos of workshop, supplies, or works in progress required. Retail Items Allowed. All items must be entirely hand-made, no Embellishments only. All items must be entirely hand-made by the artist alone. All items must be Fine Craft or Art. Limited number of Artists per category. Artist must be present day of show. Floor length table cloths required. All product types to be sold must be listed on application. Pre-show inspection of items and booths will be performed. Vendors with items violating contract terms WILL BE asked to remove them. Determined Quality Level: 2
