History of Festival of Trees

Festival of Trees is Kennedy Krieger's largest fundraising event of the year and the largest holiday-themed event in the Mid-Atlantic region. Festival of Trees includes more than 400 beautifully decorated trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses designed by local artists, businesses and community groups, plus holiday crafts shopping, amazing items up for grabs at the silent auction, hourly live entertainment and, of course, Santa! Awards will be given to the top designers in various categories, and trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses will be sold to benefit the research, treatment and education programs at Kennedy Krieger Institute.



Over the years, Festival of Trees has grown with the involvement of more sponsors, designers, performers and volunteers. Festival of Trees is planned and implemented by more than 400 caring community volunteers, who give freely of their time and talent. The focal point of the event is the holiday decor which features over 300 spectacular holiday trees, wreaths, stockings and gingerbread houses created by local designers, artists, florists and individuals. Festival of Trees is truly an exciting event you won't want the family to miss!

The Kennedy Krieger Institute will once again usher in the sights, sounds, tastes, and smells of the holiday season with their annual Festival of Trees fundraising event. Guests will enjoy hundreds of incredibly decorated trees, wreaths, and gingerbread houses, a visit from Santa and a jump start on the holiday shopping season with over 100 vendors and a silent auction offering great gift ideas. Event/Application Rules & Regulations
     Representations and Warranties.  Each party hereto represents, warrants and covenants to the other as follows:

     It has the full right and legal authority to enter into and fully perform this Agreement in accordance with the terms and conditions hereof; and

     The execution, delivery and performance of this Agreement does not and will not violate or cause breach of any other agreements or obligations to which it is a party or by which it is bound, and no approval or other action by any governmental authority or agency, or any other individual or entity, is required in connection herewith.

     Entire Agreement; Choice of Law; Severability.  This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and shall supersede any and all other agreements, whether oral or otherwise, between the parties. Any amendment or modification of this Agreement must be in writing and signed by authorized representatives of both parties. The agreement will be governed by and construed according to the laws of the State of Maryland. If any term or provision of this Agreement, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance shall, to any extent be held invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of this Agreement, or the application of such term or provision to persons or circumstances other than those as to which it is held invalid or unenforceable, shall not be affected thereby, and each such term and provision of this Agreement shall be valid and be enforced to the fullest extent permitted by law.

     I understand the following terms:
I understand my booth must be staffed at all times. The space on which Exhibitor shall display and exhibit his products shall be as shown on the official diagram for said event or such other space of equal size as the Management may hereinafter designate. Show Management reserves the right to relocate any exhibitor at any time for the benefit of the show. The Exhibitor agrees to pay the sum above specified as follows: 50% due upon the execution of this agreement, and the remaining balance due 45 days prior to event. No deposits or refunds will be issued once application is accepted by Management. The actual occupation of the space is of the essence hereof. In the event the exhibitor shall not occupy said space then and in such event the Management is expressly authorized to occupy or cause said space to be occupied in such a manner as it may deem best for the interest of said event without any rebate or allowance whatsoever therefore to Exhibitor and without in any way releasing the Exhibitor from any liability hereunder, and the Exhibitor expressly agrees to pay the Management in the full sum hereinabove set forth. Exhibitor shall not, without prior written consent of the Management, assign or sublet such space, or any part thereof, or move out his display before official closing of said show. The conditions, rules and regulations adopted by Management are made a part hereof and incorporated herein, and the Exhibitor agrees to be bound by each and every one of them; and the Management shall have full power in the matter of interpretation, amendment and enforcement of all said conditions, rules and regulations. The Management will not be liable for refunds or any other liabilities whatsoever for the failure to fulfill this contract due to any of the following causes:
   (A) By reason of the enclosure in which the show or pageant is to be produced, being, before or during the show, destroyed by fire or other calamity.
   (B) By any act of God, public enemy, strikes, statutes, ordinances or any legal authority, or any other cause beyond the Management's control. That no agreement, respect of the matters herein contained, shall become a part hereof unless duly endorsed hereon. Final approval of this contract is at the discretion of Management.
50% DEPOSITS MUST BE RECEIVED NOW IN ORDER TO GUARANTEE YOUR BOOTH.



Common Rules Selected: Previous acceptance does not guarantee re-acceptance. Jury materials, slides or photos, will not be returned to you. Spots are assigned prior to show based by promoter. No Refunds or Show Credits. Held Rain or Shine! Overnight Security Provided. ALL product categories must be itemized on the application. No vendor may sell any soft drinks, name brand drinks, or bottled water. No streamer poppers, snaps, silly string, stink bombs or other similar items may be sold! No pop guns, marshmellow guns or other disruptive items may be sold. Trash must be removed from your space to provided receptacles. No Gas Generators. Additional Lighting Recommended (bring lights and cords). No Early Packup Allowed. NO Setup until vehicle fully unloaded and moved. Vehicle must be parked in designated areas. Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space. No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible. Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards. No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area. All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax.
