Description
| The 2nd Annual Grayson Earth Day will be held May 1 & 2. On Friday, May 1, a tour of environmentally friendly entities will be held. The tour includes lunch of local foods at the Davis-Bourne Inn and is $29. Reservations at are required. On Friday evening, UpTown Independence will host its 1st Annual Friends of UpTown Spring Bash at the Davis-Bourne Inn from 4-7. Admission is $5 to the general public and attendees are invited to join Friends to support, promote and preserve the community of Independence. UpTown is a non-profit organization and memberships may be tax-deductible and the $5 admission is applied to your membership. Joyce Rouse, aka Earth Mama will entertain. Her motto is "healing the planet one song at a time". Food will be provided by Chef Rich Ridgely at the Davis-Bourne Inn. On Saturday morning the 2nd Annual Independence Farmers Market will open along with vendors and exhibitors representing environmentally and community friendly groups, businesses and vendors. At 2pm, the Annual Dress as Your Favorite Species Parade will depart from Grayson County High School and travel up Main Street. Folks dressed in costume, electric or hybrid cars, floats are invited to join the parade. Immediately following the parade, the Grayson LandCare Land Stewardship Awards will be presented to Grayson County student with the top award being $1000. |

Common Rules Selected: No streamer poppers, snaps, silly string, stink bombs or other similar items may be sold! Raffle / Door Prize Donation Required. Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space.
No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible.
Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards.
No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area.
All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax. |
