This is a wonderful 3-day art festival in Julia Davis Park, Boise, Idaho.  Over 250,000 people attend and there are 260 artists, 35 food concessions and music all day Saturday and Sunday.

This is the largets single fundraiser for the Boise Art Museum. You are invited to apply to be one of 260 juried exhibitors at this year's Art in the Park, presented by the Boise Art Museum. Our goal is to providea high-quality event to benefit both the community and participating artists. For over fifty years, Art in the Park has been a tradition that has grown from a clothes-line display of art to the region's largest annual arts and crafts festival. The festival provides a unique opportunity for the public to meet artists and purchase their works. In addition, Art in the Park offers live entertainment, park performers, wonderful food prepared by more than 35 concessionaires, as well as hands-on art activities for children. Art in the Park is held in beautiful Julia Davis Park near the heart ofdowntown Boise, Idaho. The park, which is adjacent to the Boise Art Museum, provides an ideal atmosphere for exhibitors and the over 250,000 visitors who attend the event.Proceeds generated by Art in the Park are used to produce the annual event and to provide vital support for the Boise Art Museum. Art in thePark is the most important fund raiser for the Museum, a privately funded, 501(C)3 organization. If you would like to participate, please note that all applications must be postmarked by Friday, March 12, 2010. SET-UP TIME is all day Thursday, September 9. All booths mustbe set up by 8:00 p.m.  The 55th Annual Art in the Park will open at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 10th. ARTIST SERVICES Art in the Park's goal is to make exhibiting in an outdoor setting as enjoyable of an experience as possible. To meet this objective, we take pride in providing "Artist Services". Exhibiting artists will receive notification of a variety of these services offered, prior to, and during Art inthe Park. Services include: nearby parking and shuttle, preferential hotel rates, booth signs and exhibitor identification badges. Other service sprovided are: booth sitters, a daily hospitality area for exhibitors-only featuring complimentary snacks and beverages. Also included, is an Artist's Reception held Friday evening during Art in the Park!  SPECIAL RECEPTION FOR ARTISTS/BEST OF SHOW AWARDS A tradition at Art in the Park is the annual reception to honor festival artists in the Boise Art Museum's beautiful Sculpture Garden. Dinner and refreshments will be provided for each artist and their guest. This is agreat time to say "hello" to your old friends and to meet new ones.

Event/Application Rules & Regulations
Artists must personally staff their exhibit booths and be present during the entire three days of Art in the Park. While artists are encouraged to bring extra help for the weekend, artist representatives are not allowed as substitutes for the artists.
Work exhibited at Art in the Park must be consistent with the artwork reviewed and accepted by the jury committee. Artists may show work only in accepted categories. Art in the Park has the right to require that any other work be immediately removed from the show. Failure to comply may result in an exhibitor’s removal from the festival and jeopardize the exhibitor’s eligibility to participate in any future Art in the Park.
Only those artists who have been accepted in the Jewelry category may display or sell jewelry during Art in the Park.
Each sale must be accompanied by an official Art in the Park receipt written from receipt books provided by the Boise Art Museum. Any artist found not writing receipts will be asked to leave immediately.
Artists may not exhibit or sell work by any other artist.
Artists need to have sufficient inventory on hand for the 3-day event.  All work exhibited must be for sale.
All commissions and orders for artists’ work are considered purchases and must be paid-in-full during Art in the Park.
Artists are responsible for building and equipping their booths. Be prepared to provide your own weather protection.
Artists may begin booth setup at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 9th. Setup must be completed by 7:00 p.m. that day.
Artists are responsible for the security of their work and booths at all times. Although security guards patrol the grounds day and night, the Boise Art Museum is not responsible for any damage, theft, loss, etc.
Boise City ordinance prohibits overnight parking in all city parks. A list of hotel accommodations will be enclosed in the artist’s acceptance packet. However, because of the value of the artwork, artists desiring to do so will be allowed to sleep on the ground next to their booths during Art in the Park.
Each participating artist will receive a packet at check-in which will include instructions, sales receipt book(s), space assignment, and other important information about the event. Artist check-in and packet distribution will occur between 12:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9th.
Each exhibitor is provided with a booth sign showing name, media category, home town and booth number. This sign must appear at or above eye-level in the front of the exhibitor’s display and booth. Name tags, which are provided by Art in the Park, must be worn by all exhibitors during festival hours.
Artists must check out at the Boise Art Museum beginning at 5:30 pm. Artists may not check out prior to the end. Artists may not check out prior to the end of the festival, 5 p.m., Sunday, September 13, 2009. Artists who fail to check out will forfeit consideration for participation at any future Art in the Park.
In case of inclement weather, Boise Art Museum reserves the right to move artists as needed to other areas of Julia Davis Park. All measures will be taken to move the artist as close as possible to the location indicated on the Art in the Park map.
If there is any damage to Julia Davis Park caused by the artist or his/her assistants, the artist will be responsible for payment to repair that damage.  There is a substantial fine for driving motor vehicles on the grass.
Boise Art Museum reserves the right to remove an artist for violation of any of the rules of participation in Art in the Park.
IMPORTANT
Please note that trailers/motorhomes will be permitted to stay in Julia Davis Park only by special paid permit during the three-day event. Permits are $25/night and must be purchased in advance for a lot in another area of the park. Shuttles and limited offsite parking will be available.  Please plan to unload artwork on set-up day with brief restocking trips during the event.  
Common Rules Selected: Previous acceptance does not guarantee re-acceptance. A percentage of vendors are cycled out each year to maintain freshness. Include a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope with enough postage for the jury materials you are sending to be returned to you. Jury Fee must be sent with a Seperate check. Spots are assigned prior to show based by promoter. Conditional Partial or Full Refunds by conditions such as date and whether your space is resold. Held Rain or Shine! Overnight Security Provided. ALL product categories must be itemized on the application. No vendor may sell any soft drinks, name brand drinks, or bottled water. No streamer poppers, snaps, silly string, stink bombs or other similar items may be sold! No pop guns, marshmellow guns or other disruptive items may be sold. Trash must be removed from your space to provided receptacles. No Gas Generators. Additional Lighting Recommended (bring lights and cords). No Early Packup Allowed. Event Helping Hands will come around/be available to relieve you for short periods. NO Setup until vehicle fully unloaded and moved. Vehicle must be parked in designated areas. Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space. No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible. Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards. No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area. All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax.
