Description
The Charlotte Fine Art Show is a high quality fine art show, with 150 artists from across the country. The artists are juried by art professionals, with judging voted on technique/execution, quality, originality; the event gives $1,500 in artist awards. For more information regarding the jury of art professionals who select the artists for the Orchard Lake Fine Art Show, please log on to HotWorks.org, and go to web page “The Jury”. This event is artist-friendly and provides many amenities in addition to the $1,500 artist awards. On sight artist parking, RV parking, bathroom breaks, ease of move in and move out are only some of the examples of the amenities; we try to accommodate almost any other reasonable request and encourage your input.
Charlotte, NC is located in the #2 banking center in the United States. With the excitement of a cosmopolitan city and the ease of Southern charm, Charlotte presents a unique atmosphere where big city style meets down-home appeal. The Merchandise Mart is an indoor facility, with amenities such as controlled “weather”, ease of drive in/out, a friendly and non-union building, and a very popular facility in which the public is used to coming to for events.

Event/Application Rules & Regulations
The Rules
• Work must be original and crafted by the artist.
• Work must only be in the media and styles accepted by the jury.
• Work must be in proportion to slides submitted.
• Artists must provide tent and display materials.
• Displays must remain within assigned space.
• No sharing booths unless all artists are represented in juried slides.
• Electricity is available for $75, which is in addition to the booth fee.
• Prints and reproductions are accepted when clearly labeled and limited to 30% of work displayed.
• North Carolina 7.25% Sales Tax must be collected and remitted. Call 877-252-3052

• Each artist must provide enough work to exhibit and sell during the entire duration of the art fair.
Common Rules Selected: Previous acceptance does not guarantee re-acceptance. A percentage of vendors are cycled out each year to maintain freshness. Include a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope with enough postage for the jury materials you are sending to be returned to you. Send 1 SASE - Self Addressed Stamped Envelope with standard postage. Spots are assigned prior to show based by promoter. No Refunds. Show Credits available by condition. Held Rain or Shine! Overnight Security Provided. ALL product categories must be itemized on the application. No vendor may sell any soft drinks, name brand drinks, or bottled water. No streamer poppers, snaps, silly string, stink bombs or other similar items may be sold! No pop guns, marshmellow guns or other disruptive items may be sold. Trash must be removed from your space to provided receptacles. No Gas Generators. Additional Lighting Recommended (bring lights and cords). White Canopies Only. No Early Packup Allowed. Floor Length Table Cloth Required. Send 1 SASE - Self Addressed Stamped Envelope with standard postage. Event Helping Hands will come around/be available to relieve you for short periods. Vehicle must be parked in designated areas. Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space.
No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible.
Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards.
No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area.
All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax. |

All items must be entirely hand-made, no Embellishments only.

Driving Directions From I-85
Driving south, take the exit for I-77 South. Take the Brookshire Freeway exit off of I-77 (right turn). Once on the exit, follow the directions for Brookshire Freeway East.
Drive 2 miles and take the East Independence Blvd. exit (left turn). Once on East Independence Blvd., drive 2.2 miles to Briar Creek Road and turn right. Mart parking areas are just ahead, on both sides of the street.
Driving north, take the Brookshire Blvd. (Highway 16) exit. Turn right at top of the exit ramp. Drive 4 miles and take the East Independence Blvd. exit. Once on East Independence Blvd., drive 2.2 miles to Briar Creek Road and turn right. Mart parking areas are just ahead, on both sides of the street.
From I-77
Driving north, take the John Belk Freeway exit. Drive 2.3 miles and take the East Independence Blvd. exit (right turn). Once on East Independence Blvd., drive 2.2 miles to Briar Creek Road and turn right. Mart parking areas are just ahead, on both sides of the street.
Driving south, take the Brookshire Freeway exit. Once on the exit, follow the directions from the Brookshire Freeway East. Drive 2 miles and take the
East Independence Blvd. exit. Once on East Independence Blvd., drive 2.2 miles to Briar Creek Road and turn right. Mart parking areas are just ahead, on both sides of the street.
From Highway 74 (Independence Blvd.) Driving West
Option #1: Proceed 1/2 mile beyond Eastway Drive to the new Briar Creek interchange and bridge. Bear right on the interchange after passing under the bridge. Proceed right again on Briar Creek Road (over bridge) to the Mart parking on the right, or Independence Arena parking on the left.
Option #2: Take the second Eastway Drive exit (look for airport directional signs). Turn right at the first stoplight (Monroe Road). Drive .7 miles and turn right on Washburn Avenue. Merchandise Mart parking will be on the left, and Independence Arena parking will be on the right.
