Vendor Types Needed: We are looking for local artisans that truly show their talent through their craft - whether it be painters, photographers, jewelry makers, bakers, etc.
NOT Needed: We do not want any exhibitors to sell mass produced items, or items from big retailers/national chains. We wish to showcase the talent of hand-crafted arts.
This is a first year show. No percentages are available on application acceptance rates.
Applications are Juried ongoingly & Accepted progressively as they arrive, until all spaces are filled.

Description
This is the ultimate outdoor spring shopping experience! The Artisan Market is an exciting new craft show that will highlight the talent of Houston's artisans!
This Artisan Market is modeled after the openness and laid-back nature of a farmer's market. We wish to generate huge interest in the Artisan culture that Houston has! The event is entirely outdoors & will feature up to 30 artisans! We look forward to showcasing some of Houston's artistic talent - whether you are a baker, a painter, a jewelry maker, or a photographer! All artisans are welcome!

Event/Application Rules & Regulations
Dear Artisan,
We would like to invite you to participate in the Artisan Market to be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010. The event will be
from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and will be located at Sheny Designs at 1740 Sunset Blvd., Houston, TX 77005. There will be
no rain date!
Outdoor Spaces
The Artisan Market will be held entirely outside, on a property adjacent to Sheny Designs boutique. The outdoor spaces will
cost $50.00 for an 8’ x 8’ space. The space is ideal for a six-foot table and two chairs. Each outdoor space will be open to
customer traffic on one side only. Some of the spaces are under an awning, while others are completely uncovered. All
spaces are on concrete.
You may bring a canopy for the uncovered spaces only, and you must secure your canopy with sandbags or bricks. Be aware
that all spaces are sold as rain or shine and NO REFUNDS are given.
There is room for over 25 vendors and spaces are reserved as first come, first serve once the paperwork and payment are
received. Registration forms are due by April 24, 2010. After this date, only cash or money orders will be accepted to
reserve your space.
We will limit jewelry vendors to a total of 20% of the entire craft show. Therefore, we will accept no more than 5 jewelry
vendors, and this total does include those vendors who sell jewelry along with other merchandise. We also reserve the right
to limit any type of merchandise that is too similar so that we do not saturate our show with the same type of products.
Again, these spaces are reserved as first come, first serve only when paperwork and payment are received.
Food
We ask that vendors that are not specifically concession vendors do NOT sell food items that would be for immediate
consumption. You may sell gift food items such as salsa, candy boxes, jams/jellies, etc. that are packaged only.
Advertising
Advertising for Artisan Market at Sheny Designs will be publicized on http://www.craftlister.comhttp://www.eventlister.com and in
surrounding neighborhood newspapers such as The Examiner (reaching River Oaks, Bellaire & West University) and area
periodicals such as the Houston Press. In addition, the event will be printed in the This Week section of the Houston
Chronicle. The show will also be promoted through the Sheny Designs newsletter in the months of April and May. We are
also adding this event to Sheny Designs’ Facebook page, as well as that of VIDA Events and Marketing.
Professional signs will be placed in the West University subdivision plus surrounding neighborhoods and intersections on the
day of the event as well as days prior to the show. We will also have 2 banners – one on each side of the corner of the
property adjacent to Sheny Designs.
We have enclosed a flier for you to email or make copies and distribute to customers, friends, family and area businesses of
your choice. We would appreciate any advertising you can lend to this show—the more guests we have attending, the better
the show (and hopefully, more sales) for everyone!
Artisan Market is a neighborhood show.
Set Up
You may set up Saturday morning during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Please park your vehicle on the streets
near the property, but leaving spots closest to the event for customers. We would appreciate your utmost cooperation
with the parking situation so that our customers can park close to the property and as a result, we will have a more
shoppers!
You will be responsible for your own set up and take down. The tables will need a tablecloth to be presentable for your
merchandise and you are responsible for that, as well as any chairs or other items you may need.
Please DO NOT breakdown your booth before 4:00 p.m. because it makes customers think the show is closing and hurts sales
for ALL vendors! You MUST have your space cleared and cleaned by 5:00 p.m. or you will be charged a fine of $25.00.
Booth Assignments
A great deal of thought and planning will go into the booth assignments. All rental spaces will be assigned at the discretion
of the event coordinators due to space locations and restrictions. On the morning of the event, please see the Registration
Table to check-in and get your booth assignment.
Tax ID Information
We have been notified that all vendors need a sales tax ID number (EIN) in order to participate in our show. We have also
been informed that surprise visits by the tax office may take place and question everyone for their tax ID number. Please
remember to bring your sales tax certificate or a copy of it with you to the show.
If you have questions whether or not you need a tax ID, please contact a tax accountant for further assistance.
If you do not have a tax ID number, we have been told that it is very easy to obtain one. The phone number is
1.800.252.5555, or you can apply online for a tax permit at http://www.window.state.tx.us/taxpermit/.
Confirmation
We will confirm your payment via email or telephone when the registration form and payment is received. If we have any
questions concerning your registration, we will call you.
Liability
Artisan Market at Sheny Designs will not be liable or responsible for any damage or theft. BOOTH FEES ARE NOT
REFUNDABLE.

Common Rules Selected: Held Rain or Shine! No vendor may sell any soft drinks, name brand drinks, or bottled water. No streamer poppers, snaps, silly string, stink bombs or other similar items may be sold! No pop guns, marshmellow guns or other disruptive items may be sold. No Early Packup Allowed. Table Cloth or Drape Required. Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space.
No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible.
Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards.
No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area.
All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax. |

A single-person or more panel jury reviews slides or photos and display.
All items must be entirely hand-made, no Embellishments only.
