Description
The Bethesda Artist Market, featuring fine art and craft for display and sale, is now accepting submissions for all 2009 dates. Selected artists will be invited to participate in the Bethesda Artist Markets on the following Saturdays: June 13, July 11, September 12 and October 10, from 10am-5pm.
Deadline for application and slide submission is Friday, February 27, 2009 by 5pm. Participating artists will be selected by members of the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District.
The Bethesda Artist Market will be held in the Bethesda Place Plaza located at the elevated plaza at the corner of Old Georgetown Road and Woodmont Avenue. The Bethesda Artist Market is produced by the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District and is free to the public.
Artists must be 18 years of age or older. All fine art and fine craft are accepted including, but not limited to: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, fiber art, digital, mixed media, clay, wearable fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, paper, ceramics and wood. All artists must provide their own white 10’X10’ tent.
Each artist must submit five slides of their work and one slide of their booth. Digital entries will also be accepted in CD format. A non-refundable entry fee of $15 must accompany the application. A separate check of $50 for the booth fee must also accompany the application. Please include separate $50 checks for each Market the artist is applying for.

Event/Application Rules & Regulations
Common Rules Selected: Include a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope with enough postage for the jury materials you are sending to be returned to you. Event Helping Hands will come around/be available to relieve you for short periods. Food Service will take orders from and deliver to vendor booths. Spots are assigned prior to show based by promoter. Conditional Partial or Full Refunds by conditions such as date and whether your space is resold. Held Rain or Shine! White Canopies Only. Canopies must be weighted down, no stakes allowed in ground. Food Service will take orders from and deliver to vendor booths. Event Helping Hands will come around/be available to relieve you for short periods. Vehicles can not be brought near stand for un/loading. Vehicle must be parked in designated areas. Standard Rules: All work and displays must stay within designated space.
No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible.
Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards.
No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area.
All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax. |
