Description
38th annual gem/jewelry/mineral/fossil show with demonstrations of jewelry and lapidary arts. Jewelry, rocks, gems, fossils, mineral specimens. This year's theme - Gems of South America. Gemstones of the Zodiac are coming to Exton. Gemarama 2010, Tuscarora Lapidary Society’s 41st annual fine gem, jewelry and mineral show will be held Saturday, Nov. 6, 10am – 6pm and Sunday, Nov. 7, 10am-5pm at CFS, The School at Church Farm, in Exton, PA north side of Business Route 30, 1/2 mile west of the Frazer- Rte. 30 exit off Route 202.
“Gemstones of the Zodiac” is the theme for this year’s Gemarama. The idea of a birthstone connected with the month of your birth is based in traditional astrology. Mystics believe that each stone has its own unique character and abilities, including luck, healing, and protection. For instance, a Virgos are given peace of mind with Sapphires, while Sagittarians have luck with Turquoise; Amethysts bring healing to Pisces, and Libras are soothed with Opals.
Many lapidary and jewelry arts exhibits at Gemarama 2010 will feature Gemstones of the Zodiac. In addition, 26 dealers with treasures from all over the world including precious and semiprecious gemstones, beads, and minerals will carry many of these treasures. There will be special exhibits for the blind, continuous demonstrations in lapidary and jewelry arts, and special activities for children. Food is available and parking is free.
The Tuscarora Lapidary Society is a non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of the lapidary hobby (the cutting and polishing of gemstones). The proceeds from the annual Gemarama are used to operate Tuscarora’s Skill Center in Media for teaching lapidary and related jewelry arts to its members and interested public.
Admission is $6 for adults, $1 for children under 12 years of age; two-day adult tickets are $9. With our discount coupon the adult single day admission is $5. Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in uniform and accompanied by an adult Scoutmaster are admitted free.
