Opportunity House will host its 48th Annual Arts & Crafts Fair 9 AM - 5 PM on Friday, Sept. 3rd, and Saturday, Sept. 4th, 2010 as part of the North Carolina Apple Festival. The Fair, originally the opening event of the annual Apple Festival, will be held in Opportunity House’s air-conditioned building with free parking and free admission.
Special features include over 30 juried crafters, demonstrations, the traditional Bake Sale and a benefit Raffle Drawing with chances to win some terrific prizes donated by several local businesses and organizations. A food concession will be held each day from 9 AM - 2 PM.

Event/Application Rules & Regulations
ELIGIBILITY: Craft must be the original work of the person applying. If more than one person produces the work, or if two people wish to share a booth, state this clearly on the application. Mass-produced food or crafters are not eligible. Commercially produced parts are not allowed unless they are minor functional components of the design. If in any doubt about any item, please inquire before submitting your application.
SPACE ALLOCATION: The 8’ wide x 6’ deep spaces are assigned in a first come, first served method for the best display of wares and traffic pattern. We will try to accommodate requests for specific locations from crafters who participated last year. However, because we try to spread crafters of a similar nature throughout the building, we reserve the right to decline your request. If you have special needs, please state them on the application. Also, do not swap spaces with another exhibitor without the prior permission of the Fair Director.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS: Full refunds of booth fee, less $25 processing fee, will be made up to 30 days prior to the show upon written request with no explanation needed. AFTER THAT TIME NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE.
SHOW INFORMATION: The major part of the Fair takes place in an air-conditioned building with excellent lighting and other facilities. Since dividers are not used, please be sure your space is attractive from all sides and will not distract from your neighbor\'s display. Keep spaces uncluttered and boxes covered. Temperatures are kept cool for the comfort of the public so please bring a wrap for your own comfort if necessary. Absolutely NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR SMOKING WILL BE PERMITTED IN THE BUILDING. All electrical cords will need to be taped in order to prevent accidents. All fire regulations will be enforced. Children must be under close supervision at all times. Indoor security will be provided, but Opportunity House cannot accept responsibility for individual booths, work or personal liability.
SALES TAX: Sales tax will be the responsibility of the exhibitor.
DISPLAY SET UP: Exhibitors may set up their
displays on Thursday, Sept. 2nd from 6 - 8 PM and Friday, Sept. 3rd from 7 - 8:30 AM. Doors will be open to the public on both days at 9 AM. Crafters are expected to keep their displays open until 5 PM both days, Friday Aug. 29th and Sat. Aug. 30th. Crafters who do not comply will not be asked to return.Common Rules Selected:

No vendor may sell any soft drinks, name brand drinks, or bottled water. No streamer poppers, snaps, silly string, stink bombs or other similar items may be sold! No pop guns, marshmellow guns or other disruptive items may be sold. Trash must be removed from your space to provided receptacles. No Gas Generators. No Early Packup Allowed. Food Service will take orders from and deliver to vendor booths. Event Helping Hands will come around/be available to relieve you for short periods. Vehicles can not be brought near stand for un/loading. Vehicle must be parked in designated areas. Standard Rules:
All work and displays must stay within designated space.
No boxes, extra merchandise or debris should be visible.
Spot area must be kept clean throughout the event and be left spotless afterwards.
No soliciting, approaching patrons, or distribution of advertising material outside of booth area.
All vendors must have a state sales tax license. Vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax.

DIRECTIONS TO OPPORTUNITY HOUSE:
FROM THE NORTH:
Take I-26 to 25 South (Old Exit 13/Mountain Home), turn right at the top of the exit ramp.
From this exit, it is 5.4 miles to Opportunity House.
You will pass through the first stoplight after ~200 yards.
After the first 2 miles, you will pass through the second light at Mountain Road (just south of Mountain Home).
After the next .8 miles, you will pass through the third light by the Enmark gas station at Baystone Road.
You will pass a Ferris Wheel on the left and Balfour Baptist Church further down on the left, then come to the fourth light at Berkeley Road.
You will pass an Ingles grocery store on the left and pass through a fifth light at Stoney Mountain Road.
The sixth light is just .5 miles after the fifth, and Opportunity House is .3 miles after it on the right, directly across from a New China Garden restaurant with a bright yellow awning.
If you get to the intersection of Hwy.191/Haywood Rd. and Hwy. 25N, you have gone a half block too far.
Opportunity House is a half block before that on the right.
FROM THE SOUTH:
Take I-26 to Old Exit 18 (Hendersonville/64W).
Follow 64 past the Blue Ridge Mall on the left and past all the numerous fast food places.
Go over an overpass approaching Downtown Hendersonville - Historical Area.
Turn right on King Street (25N) and go through the stop light where the one-way street turns again into a two-way street.
Go through the stoplight at North Main Street and Patton Street. The next light is Fleming Street.
The following light is 191, with a bank on the left.
Opportunity House is a half block past this on the left across from New China Garden Restaurant with a bright yellow awning.
