"Miss & Mr. Chocolate Festival" Pageant - Friday, April 17th - Starts at 6 pm. (Deadline for signup is April 10th). The Kentucky Festival Pageant Association is coming to Washington again for the 22nd Annual Chocolate Festival at the Maysville Community College - in the Field Auditorium with winners being presented at the Chocolate Festival in Washington the next day on Saturday, April 18th and advancing to the Kentucky Festival State Pageant in Lexington These are the Age groups for girls: 0 to 11 months, 12-23 months, 2-3 years, 4-6 years, 7-9 years, 10-12 years, 13-15 years, 16-21, and Ms. (anyone 22 + years married or single). Age Groups for boys are; 0 to 18 months, 19 months to 3 years, and 4-6 years. All contestants will receive a crown, trophy and gift for participating. Everyone can enter free with sponsorship! This year there will be a FREE Senior Citizens Pageant for 60 years plus. This is the only age group that may sign up the day of the pageant. Pageant Organizers will be here for contestants to sign up and an information session on Sunday, April 5th from 2 to 4 pm at the Hampton Inn 503 Market Place Drive and Nationwide 1-800-Hampton (1-), The Hampton Inn is located behind Tumbleweed just off AA Hwy. (Route #9 - also known as AA Highway).

22nd Annual Chocolate Festival April 18-19 in Washington, KY

Take a step back in time and walk the flagstone pathways where Simon Kenton, Daniel Boone, Harriet Beecher Stowe and Confederate General Albert Sidney Johnston once walked. Along the way you will experience 18th Century architecture and 223 years of well preserved history.

Plan now to attend a “Pride of Kentucky” festival April 18 and 19: The 22nd Annual Chocolate Festival, open Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 11-5. There will be chocolate all along the flagstone path. With street vendors, live entertainment, food, and delicious chocolate lining your route as well as children's games and rides. On Sunday from 1-5, enjoy the old cars and trucks with the “Log Cabin Cruise-In”.

Take a step back in time with a visit to the museums in town including: The Harriet Beecher Stowe-Slavery to Freedom Museum, The Albert Sidney Johnston House, Mefford’s Station, Simon Kenton Shrine, The Cane Brake, Paxton Inn, Old Church Museum, and the Presbyterian Church. In addition there are several Log Cabins including a post office and personal residences.

And be sure to visit the many unique shops in town. From Antiques, primitives, collectibles, lamps, crafts, or candles, you can find it in the Washington shops. There will be door prizes and special chocolate treats available. Shops will be open with specials.
